Holaaaaa!!! Coooomoooo estaaaaan? Well this is my first official pday of the CCM!! I should have had another one, but they did not give us one because our pday last week counted as our travel day! But all is well over here in Mexico!! It is flaming hot haha, I gotta get used to the heat still! It is getting better, I am adapting but I am still a Utah boy haha! They sure do like to keep you busy over here! Lots of classes, lots of spanish, plenty of adventures! There are 250 missionaries in the CCM, but the full capacity of this place is 1000 I am pretty sure. They will not be in full capacity until I leave for Argentina so that is kind of nice to me because it is kind of a ghost town haha. Spanish is slowly getting better, so that is very encouraging to me because not a day goes by where I do not worry about it. But the gift of tongues is real, I know that. I want to share an experience I had with the gift of tongues, it happened in my first class of the day with Hermano Rios. One of our activities was teaching all of lesson 3 en Predicad Mi Evangelio, which is Preach My Gospel for those who do not know haha. But we went around the class, one by one and had to teach that lesson all in spanish. I was worried about it because I am not confident in my Spanish, so I said a prayer to Heavenly Father to help me know what to say. I went up there and taught without a single problem speaking the language and I did not even recognize it. I know the gift of tongues is real, I am meant to learn Spanish so Heavenly Father will help me when I try my best!
I have some more cool news! Me and Elder Richardson are the zone leaders for our zone! What a wonderful opportunity that has been, to get to know other members of branch 9! We should also be getting more missionaries here on Tuesday so we get to show them around and get them settled in here. A perk of being the zone leader is you get to pick who speaks in church on sunday, you get to pick who plays the piano for hymns, and you get to choose who gets to bless the sacrament. So basically you take care of all of it. About speaking on Sunday, I spoke last time! It all has to be in Spanish, and it needs to be 5 minutes long at least. That doesn't sound so bad until you have to do it in a completely different language haha. The way they handle Sunday talks here is crazy. They ask you to prepare one for every Sunday, and they just pick you at random during the meeting so you better come prepared!
Today we had the opportunity to go do a session at the Mexico City temple this morning! That temple is big! It is so gorgeous too, I took plenty of pictures so no need to worry haha.
Well I have to hurry and wrap things up since I didn't have much time to write this out. I want to share a story with you all in the closing of this. You have your really hard days here, and you have your really good days here. One morning, Richardson and I were having a hard morning. At least for me, I just felt like crap and didn't want to be here. One of the Elders saw us walking to class, his name is Elder Nieto. By the way, the latinos here are fantastic!! Anyways he saw us and hugged us and said, "I love you guys, I will never leave you guys behind. We are all in the same army, we all have the same enemy." The power I felt behind that was incredible!
I love you all, and I can't wait to hear from ya'll! Adios!
Love, Elder Weese
