Week 88: Busy, busy, BUSY!! 1/22/2024

Howdy everybody! How y'all doing? Im hoping things are going well back home for ya and that y'all are stayin safe and healthy!

Well these past couple of days have been super busy here! Getting a total of 7 hours of sleep in 3 days has been great haha, but I really am enjoying where I am! My love for the Zannis, the missionaries, and the gospel has just exploded these past few days! Also my companion is Elder Davies and he is from a little town just outside of Dallas Texas. The kid is a beast! I absolutely love him!

Well we've been really busy so I’ve only been in the area once. But that one time was great! I took an Elder on exchange who is one of the best that this mission has. We both went in with zero knowledge of the area because it was my first day and his as well haha! But I wanna tell ya that the counsel that Alma gave to his son Helaman is true. "Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good.." So we both went in with a lot of faith, knowing that God would be with us and we said many prayers to recieve His guidance. We knocked well over 200 doors and talked to every person in sight. The majority of the doors were slammed in our faces, a guy told us he didnt believe in Christ because "Christ is a religion", many things. We then were walking up this street and saw this lady working at a verdulería which is a place where you buy your vegetables here. Her name is Susan and she is from Bolivia. We had a quick contact with her and then a couple days later we called her and had a great lesson. She moved to Argentina to find a better life for her and her 11 year old son Alex, and everybody else couldnt make it here from her family. She has a really strong desire to do what is right in the eyes of God and told us how she knows that God has been and always will be there. We invited her to put her trust in God and be baptized on February 4 with her son Alex, she happily accepted it!

Church on Sunday was great! I got to meet the members and 6 of the friends that they have been teaching before I got here! Im serving in an area called Chacabuco which is about a kilometer south of the mission home. It is a ward with us Elders, and a set of Sister missionaries! On sunday after the church service, the sister missionaries had a baptism that we stayed for because our friends wanted to see it. It was a really cool experience that made me feel the spirit very strong as I watched the sister missionaries friend "Alejandrita" be baptized. Our friends really enjoyed it so we want to go with that momentum this week to help them do the same thing.

Anyways many things happened! Some that I just cant even describe and some that I dont want to put in this email because my mom is in it and I don't want to get in trouble😊 haha but I really do love yall! Hoorah for Israel!

Love, Elder Weese

Dear Parents and Leaders of Thomas Jacob Weese,

We are are the mission leaders of the Argentina Córdoba Mission. We would like to inform you that Elder Thomas Weese has received the assignment ofAssistant to President since 19 Jan 2024.
