Week 58: Joaquin‘s Baptism 6/19/2023

Email is still broken!

Howdy everybody! Sorry I haven't been able to reach out to any of ya, my email is still broken! Who knows, maybe I'll just have to have my mom work my email for the rest of my mission haha!

This week was really good!! It was very focused on helping Joaquin get all prepped for his baptism! So we went by his house 3 or 4 times during the week to teach him everything!!

It was also the last week of the transfer! Tomorrow we will be getting transfer news so we'll see where I am headed to next haha!

We are teaching some really good people right now and the growth of Bell Ville has been awesome to be a part of!! The baptism of Joaquin was incredible to be a part of! I'll make sure to throw all the pictures in the email!

I am very grateful for the love and support I have been getting from all of you!! I hope things are great back home!!

Have a wonderful week!!

Love, Elder Weese

Week 57: Bautismo Diego Ramello 6/12/2023

Howdy everybody!! How was your week? I hope things are going well for y'all back home! Sorry if you all emailed me and I didn't write back, I am having problems with my Google account that I am trying to figure out so it's not letting me send anything. So my mom is gonna send this email to yall!!

This week was really good!! It was the last week of preparing our friend Diego for his baptism! He had so many temptations but oh my goodness he is just such a strong guy! He told us how when bad people would try to come inside his house to do drugs, smoke, or whatever it may be he would always tell them to leave. He is not about that life anymore. What an absolute testimony of using the atonement in your life, and laying down your past!

It has been tough finding people to teach in our area. We have been looking and haven't been having a whole lot of success but my companion and I have a lot of high hopes for this week!!

We have been dropping a lot of people due to no progression and what not. For example my last companion and I, were teaching a big family of 12. We had so many hopes for them but they would not come to church! We did everything we could do but no result. Elder Cunningham and I stopped by on Saturday to try and teach them and get them to church, finding them all drunk with a pastor in their house. When I tell you when you could literally feel the spirit just disappear as you walked into the house, I don't think I have ever felt it like that until we went there that day.

But like I said at the start of the email we were prepping Diego all week for his baptism and he made it!! It was an incredible experience to be able to baptize him and just see the pure joy in his eyes. His daughter who is just over a year old came to the baptism too!! It was his first time seeing her in 5 months!!

But that basically describes my week!! This weekend we will be baptizing our friend Joaquin so if you can all keep him and his family in your prayers it would be fantastic. Trust me, I am witnessing the miracles that come from your prayers!!!

I love you all!! Have a wonderful week! Chau!!

Week 56: Baptism Week 6/5/2023

Howdy everybody! How was your week!? I hope things are going well back home for yall!!

This week we had Nancy's baptism!! What a special day it was!! Truly something that is going to stick with me for forever!! I'll throw the pics in the email!!

We have been preparing Diego for his baptism which will be on Sunday!! I can't wait!! The mighty change that we have seen in this guy has been insane! I am so happy for him and seeing the excitement on his face makes it all great!!

We are working very hard here in Bell Ville just seeking the miracles! It is a grind but I sure do love it! My companion is great and helps me a ton!! His name is Elder Cunningham and he is from Arizona!! He's 22 and has about 6 months or so on the mission. Truly a powerful missionary!!

I love you all!! Have a wonderful week and let me know if I can do anything for yall!! God loves you, and He loves every effort you put into things!!

Chau!

Week 55: The Lord Is Preparing The Hearts of Many 5/29/2023

Howdy everybody! How was the week for yall? I hope things are going well back home!!

This week was great!! We are seeing a lot of success in Bell Ville! We have taught so many lessons, and have been getting so much help from the members! I couldn't ask for more!

We put another one of our friends on date, his name is Joaquin! He's the son of Noelia and Juan and we have been teaching this family for a while now! The parents need to get married, but Noelia wants to be baptized as well so we will be making that happen! We have been working a lot with Juan to help him grow a testimony but it has been a little tough because he is a pretty heavy catholic. But they've been coming to church on Sundays so they are heading in the right direction!! The baptism of Joaquin will help them so much!

We did exchanges as well this week with some other Elders! I was with Elder Costa who is from Brazil, and is pretty dang new in the mission! We were able to help them boost the confidence in the area by putting a date for them, and chatting a little bit with the bishop to start a ward mission plan so things are looking good!

The zone is doing fantastic!! All the missionaries have been pouring out there hearts to the work so I couldn't be happier!

CRAZY NEWS
So yesterday while we were walking in the street we get a phone call from Pres Zanni. Come to find out my companion Elder Abrea is the next AP! So we are on a bus right now on our way to drop him off in Córdoba, and to pick up my new comp who is Elder Cunningham!

I also got to speak in church yesterday! I spoke about Personal Progress! And listed 4 things we can do, to progress in life.

1) Daily Repentance
2) Daily scripture study
3) Daily prayer
4) Weekly church attendance (don't allow yourselves to miss a Sunday, it is so important!)

The longer I have been on the mission, the bigger my testimony has gotten on these 4 things. I promise you that if you want to sew yourself progress, if you want to feel the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, do these 4 things!

Have a wonderful week!

Week 54: Córdoba 5/22/2023

Howdy everybody!! How is everything going? This week was pretty crazy haha!

So we had our zone conference on Wednesday and they wanted us to go over there a day early because we live far away from Córdoba, so we hopped on a bus Tuesday night and headed in that direction! It was fun being able to get together with a bunch of the other missionaries! Zone conference was really good! I learned a lot! Also had to give a training session with my companion that took about an hour for us to give haha so I'm glad the Lord helped us out with that one! I also had to say goodbye to my dad, Elder Scott who will be going home in a couple of weeks so that was pretty hard doing that. Elder Scott truly helped me form my mission and helped me stay! I can't thank God enough for putting him in my life! I´ll make sure to throw in all the pictures of that in this email!

After the zone conference we were getting on the bus when my companion started having some pain where his appendix is, so we got off the bus and called Hermana Zanni to tell her we were going to the hospital in Córdoba. So we spent another day in Córdoba figuring out what he has going on (which we still don't have the answers for), but I am just grateful to have healthcare in the states!

We eventually made it back to Bell Ville and continued with the work! Helping our friend Nancy prepare for her baptism, she was very excited and ready to be baptized until Saturday morning we got a text from one of the members saying that Nancy was in the hospital. She was in bed and had a panic attack which sent her to the hospital and she told her daughter, ¨Tell them to cancel the baptism, I can't do it¨ That night we went over to the members house and had Nancy join us and she just broke down just explaining how unworthy she felt and how she was not ready for it. We helped her calm down a little and I shared with her a little bit of me preparing for the mission, because I know how unworthiness feels. I explained to her how worthiness is not flawlessness, worthiness is being honest in all that we do and trying. (Thank you Brad Wilcox) Nancy is ready, I know that she is worthy to be baptized and that she will feel her sins wash away on her baptism day. So we will be baptizing her :)

Yesterday we had a stake conference! It went really well! Nancy came, our friend Diego (who is the boxer) came, and Juan Carlos came as well! There was a very strong spirit during the conference that we all felt during the conference! That afternoon we taught a lesson with Diego and brought a member with us! In that lesson we were able to put Diego on date for baptism! When I tell ya you could just see the spirit touch him and his eyes just illuminate when we invited him to follow the Savior´s example and to be baptized, it was real! I am very excited for our friend Diego!

Anyways that basically sums the week up! I sure do love you all and hope you all have a wonderful week! Hasta luego!

Week 53: Miracles in Bell Ville!! 5/15/2023

Howdy everybody! How was your week!? I hope everything is going well back home!!

Things in the promised land of Argentina are going well!! The Lord has been blessing this mission with many miracles including my area of Bell Ville!

This week we were able to put our friend Nancy on date for Sunday the 21 of May so it will be coming up fast!! The lesson we had with her was very spiritual, and she is very excited to be baptized!!!

We are teaching some amazing people right now with lots of potential, the members have been helping us a lot, and the church was FULL on Sunday!!

Me and my companion are very content with what's going on in the area, but that doesn't mean we are going to lighten up on the work. The field is white and ready to harvest, not brown and ready to be watered so we need to get harvesting!!

This week we also went to Córdoba for a leadership counsel!! It went really well and many ideas were brought up on how to better the zones and to be better leaders!!

I'm doing good, trying to stay a little healthy haha, and I am happy!! I hope yall have a wonderful week!!

Chau!

Week 52: Semana De Milagros!! 5/8/2023

Howdy everybody!!! How was your week!? I hope this email finds you all safe and healthy back home!!

Things for me are going good!! I started the week off a little sick so I was in the house for a few days but I feel a lot better now! It was rough being stuck in the house, not being able to do much work in person. We did a lot of phone calls and a lot of work on the phone because that's all we could do basically!! But even though that was the case, we were able to make the most of it and put our friend Cristian Carballo on date!!! So if you guys could pray for him that would be fantastic!!

I've mentioned many times how hard it is for us to get our friends to church. We have prayed, fasted, and put in the work but it has been tough seeing the results to all of that effort. Sunday was a very special day!! I can't remember if I have mentioned a family that we are teaching, but I will really fast right now so you can get the picture. We are teaching a family of 4 right now, moms name is Noelia, Dads name is Juan Carlos, and their 2 kids Joaquin and Benjamin. We have seen a lot of growth in them and they have seen many blessings come to their lives through accepting the missionaries and reading the book of Mormon. For example they haven't had any work, and were very worried about what they were going to do to be able to put some food on the table. Ever since we have taught them the dad has always found work to do, and now recently they told us they will be opening up a little shop on the soccer field. They both have said that they know that those are blessings from God.

So with that being said the goal has been getting them to church. It has been hard! We even have had members swing by to pick them up but they would refuse until Sunday...... THEY SAID YES!! When I tell yall I had the biggest smile on my face, you wouldn't believe me haha!! They said they loved it!! They felt the spirit and felt like it was the right place for them to be. That night we went to their house to thank them for coming and to see when we could swing by again and as we were talking Noelia told us she wanted to be baptized!!!! Que milagro aye!? So that is another family that could be added to your prayer list right there!!

Anyways I'll cut her off here!! I feel the support and see the blessings that comes from your prayers everyday. I love you all! God loves you! And He is a God of miracles!!

Que tenga una gran semana!!

Week 51: My First Time Being Sick on the Mission 5/1/2023

Howdy everybody!! How was your week? Looks like you guys are getting out of the snow finally!! I'm happy to hear that haha!! Things are starting to cool down here in Argentina! As you can see by the title, I'm sick haha! I've never been sick on the mission before and it sucks!

The week went by fast!! Elder Abrea and I did a fast to be able to put people on date, now we have a lot more potentials!! So I know that was an answer to our fast!!!

Nothing extremely crazy happened this week! Just been teaching and teaching and teaching some more!!

Sorry the email is short haha but I'll cut her off here!! Love yall!! Have a wonderful week! Chau

Week 50: Cómo te vaaaa 4/24/2023

Howdy everybody! How was your week?? I hope everything is going well back home and that you are all safe and healthy!!!

I'm doing good! Been focusing really hard on the work trying to give Heavenly Father my all! I hit 1 year tomorrow which is crazy to think about. My mom sent me an email and told me to think about this past year and thats all I've been doing ever since I read her email haha!! The amount of ups and downs have been wild! I want to share with you all something that is very important for me and I learned of the importance of it this past year.

Like I said the amount of ups and downs have been wild! I remember so many times feeling beat down to where I was nothing. To where I would come back to the apartment and all I could do was fall on my knees and pray. I want to testify that I know He was there listening to me. He heard everything that I had to say, and I know that He cared. I could always talk with Him through prayer. I also know He was happy when I was happy! He celebrated when I did!

This past year truly has been life changing. Being able to be a part of the greatest work that there is on the earth. Being able to help people overcome every problem, sin, sadness, hopelessness, etc. through the atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that we can overcome ANYTHING in life through the atonement of Jesus Christ!

It has been a huge blessing for me to be a part of the gathering of Israel! It has been hard. It has been hard being away from home, but I have gained more than I have lost! I am truly not sacrificing anything, I am only getting blessed even more!!!

I love you all!!! Que tengan una semana llena de amor y milagros!!! Chau chau

Con amor, Élder Weese
