Week 41: Transfers!! 2/13/2023

Howdy everybody!? How was your week!? I hope things are all going well for ya back home and that ya'll are enjoying the snow haha!

Well this week was the last week of the transfer! We have had a lot of miracles, and we're able to put one of our friends on date! Her name is Clara Molina so if you could add her to your prayers that would be great! She is progressing really fast! Has been to church twice, has been reading the book of Mormon everyday, and has loved the chats we have been having!

The members here in Guiñazu have been helping us a lot! So the work in the branch has been growing too!!

As far as transfer news.... IM STAYING! And so is Elder Neilson so I couldn't be happier!! I do look forward to seeing some new Elders in the zone, we should be getting 2 greenies, so I am stoked!!

Anyways that was my week!! I hope yall enjoy your week and stay safe! Love ya!!!

Week 40: Conferencìa With Elder Christensen 2/6/2023

Hola a todos!!! How was your week!? I hope all is well in zion and that you can all see the Lord's hand in your lives.

This week was really good!! Elder Neilson and I have a lot of people progressing so we have a lot of hope for the month of February! I just ask that you all continue to pray for our friends so that they will continue to progress!

This past Friday we had a conference with Elder Christensen from the 70! It was really good and I learned a lot there! He focused on how to help us all individually!! I took so many notes but I had a few favorites from the conference. One thing he said was how we can set the culture for the mission. He asked us what we wanted to see in our areas 20 years from now? Well at least for me I want to see a couple of church houses here in Guiñazu haha! But it is really cool to think of how I can set the pace for that with the time I have here. So I better get to work quick because we don't even have a church house haha!! Another thing that he talked about was how we need to stop fearing, but need to believe more. That was definitely one that hit me because I feel like I have a lot of fear of a million things right now but when he said that, the story of Jesus calming the tempest came to my mind. The Apostles thought they were going to die as the waves of the sea were throwing their little boat around and during all of this craziness, Jesus was asleep. One of the Apostles woke Jesus up and asked him if he even cared that they would perish? Jesus stood up and calmed the raging waves and asked them how was it that they had no faith? I think the storm of life comes to us a lot and we feel like we are just overwhelmed with things, but the example of Christ can help us. His example of being calm throughout the entire thing! Why should we fear when literally we have God himself on ourside?

Anyways I'll cut her off here!!! I hope yall have a wonderful week! Please do everything you can to strengthen your testimonies! Satan today is doing everything he can to stop us, but we can resist his temptations as we let God prevail in our lives. I love you all so much I can't even describe it!! Until the next one fellas!!

Week 39: Exchanges with my Trainer. 1/30/2023

Hola a todos!!! Cómo les va!? Espero que estén bien y que puedan ver la mano del Señor en sus vidas CADA DÍA!!

This week went really well!!! We had a lot of success in our efforts and were truly able to see the Lord's hand in it all!!

Like I said in the title, we had exchanges with the APs and one of them is my dear Elder Scott!! He came to Guiñazu and did an exchange with Elder Neilson and I! It went really well!! I am pretty sure we talked to everybody that lives in Guiñazu hahaha!!! It was raining like crazy that day!! My shoes are still SOAKED from all the rain that we got! But sadly, I didn't take a single picture that day haha sorry!! We gotta be a little careful with the phone in my area so we don't really pull it out that much!! But all in all, it was a really good day!!

We also had a baptism!!! Well, the Elders in Patricios did but all of them count for the Lord!! I had the AMAZING opportunity to baptize my friend Telma!! I'll be sure to throw in some pictures of that at the end, but the story of Telma and her son Dante is truly incredible!! The Elders of Patricios found them one pday, buying some groceries. Telma saw them and how they were all dressed up in missionary clothes and she went to talk to them because she said she lost her mom and wanted to develop a relationship with God. Truly she has to be the strongest recent convert that I know!!

Well as far as how I'm doing, I'm doing great!! Seeking everyday for ways to progress and to change!!

Well I'll end her here!! I sure do love yall!! I invite you all to take the counsel of our wonderful prophet, and to let God prevail in your life. I promise that as you do, you will find what happiness truly means and you will seek for ways to improve each day!! Have a wonderful week!!

Week 38: The one with 2 exchanges!! 1/23/2023

Hola a todos! Cómo andan!? Well this week was busy busy!!! We had 2 exchanges with a couple Elders in the zone, and we will be doing some more tomorrow!!! It sure does make the time fly by!!!

This week went by really well! We put an 8 year old kid named Maxi on date and he is very excited to by baptized!! His baptism will be on Saturday!!! Other than that Elder Neilson and I have just been grinding really hard, trying to find the elect!!! And if there has been anything I have learned on the mission, the elect do exist!!!

To give yall an example we recently started teaching this one lady who we found on the street!! Today we went back and she has read the introduction to the book of Mormon, all of the testimonies, the explanation, and all the way up to 1 Nephi 3. She went on to tell us how she feels peaceful as she is reading and how it all just makes sense!! Her name is Carina so if yall could add her to your prayers that would be great!!

Sorry my emails haven't been that long, ahaha I don't know what's going on I am having a hard time writing everything!!! Anyways I love yall and hope you have a wonderful week! I'll add a scripture at the end of this for yall!!!

15 For can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee, O house of Israel.

16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

Week 37: Anotha week in the vineyard!! 1/16/2023

Hola a todos! Cómo anda!? How are yall doing this fine week!?

This week was pretty good!!! We talked to a lot of people in the street and had some great lessons!!

Church went pretty good too!! We had 7 of our friends come which was pretty good to see all of them! The progression of these people is really awesome to see over here!! All they need to do though is get married and they can be baptized so it'll be good!!

Pday today was fun though! We did a Zone pday and played soccer all day, ate an asado, drank some doble cola, alfores, everything!! I am sunburned though! My legs have not seen the sun in 9 months haha!!

Well I dont have a whole lot on my mind to write about in this email!! Just to ask yall to continue praying for our people we are teaching! Pray for Guiñazu!! Anyways I love ya and hope yall have a fantastic week!!

Week 36: Week 1 in Guiñazu 1/9/2023

Howdy everybody!!! How's it going? Well the first week in Guiñazu has come to an end!!! What a crazy week it was and what a crazy area this is!!

Well this week was full of learning new names, new area, and how to be a ZL. I'll be honest I am drained! Mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, etc. But there is no better feeling than to say that you served with ALL your might, mind, and strength!

Well for starters I just wanna say how much I love my companion Elder Neilson! Elder Neilson is from Atlanta Georgia but his family moved to Montana while he has been out, and he goes home in 2 transfers! Him and I have gotten along so well!! Just an absolute BEAST of a missionary!

We had some awesome lessons this week!! One in particular is the Inga family. Their story is really cool! So Elder Neilson and his oast companion are the ones that found these people! It is a family of 5 and they baptized 2 of their sons, now the goal is the mom and dad. But the battle has been they won't get married! The dad wants too but the mom doesn't want too. Well this week we focused really hard on that and asked Heavenly Father for a miracle, He provided!! The dad (Juan) told us how they are getting married today! She finally agreed too!! So the plan is to baptize them on the 4 of February but honestly we might move that up a little closer now!!

We also put a girl named Pamela on date to be baptized! Pamela has a lot of family problems and one of them is that she is a single mom, trying to raise a bunch of little kids on her own. That lesson we had with her was so powerful!! We bore testimony to her of how she can have a relationship with her Heavenly Father through the power of prayer! It was awesome to watch the spirit hit her in that lesson!!

We made a billion more contacts and lessons this week but I won't throw all of that here! Anyways I love you all and hope that you all are safe!! Truly I hope that you realize how much I love you!! I cannot thank you enough for the support that you all give me through your prayers!! Have a wonderful week!!

Week 35: TRANSFERS!! 1/2/2023

Howdy everybody!!! How are things going back home? Happy New year by the way! I hope you all were able to set some goals on things you want to accomplish in 2023!!

Well things are pretty hectic right now! I am in a sketchy van with my companion leaving Aimogasta! So as you could tell by the title, we had transfers!! I am sadly leaving the wonderful people of Aimogasta! But I am excited for what's ahead! My new area is in Córdoba in a part called Guñasu which is just north of the city. I will be the Zone Leader down there with an Elder Nielson! I have never talked to him in my life but I have only heard awesome things so I am excited! My companion Elder Krupp will be staying in Aimogasta and is coming with me to pick up his greenie!!

Well now that we got all the news out, I'll talk about my last week in Aimogasta! It consisted of a lot of walking, knocking 100000 doors and talking to 100000 people. We had some awesome contacts and taught some great lessons!! But there is one that I would love to talk about which happened yesterday.

Elder Krupp and I were standing outside of the church waiting for some friends to come and for the sacrament to start when I looked over and saw this girl standing outside of her house. I felt this strong impression to go talk to her and invite her to church and me being like the natural man I am, was trying to shake off that impression. I had a whole bunch of excuses go through my head of why I shouldn't go over there, "church starts in a couple of minutes" "she ain't gonna come" "go inside and talk to the members" But after having all those excuses going through my head of why I shouldn't, I got a better one of why I should! It was "Elder I have called you to serve the people of Aimogasta, and I am giving you an opportunity" When I heard that voice I kicked off the natural man and went over to talk to her.

I am glad I did!! I went over with my companion and we could just instantly tell that she was crying. We talked with her for a little bit, trying to invite her to come to the church with us but she wasn't to big of a fan of that idea. We then told her we were servants sent by God to help people. And if she needed anything we will be there!!
Well she never came to church, but I know that wasn't the point of me going over there. She needed to know that somebody cared, that God loves her, and that she is a daughter of God.

I feel like we can all be like that girl. We all have times where we just cry, and feel hopeless. I know this because it happens to me a lot!! We must all realize that no matter where we are on the covenant path, we have a loving Heavenly Father who does not want us to be sad. He is there to comfort us in every moment so when times get hard, the first thing we must do is turn to Him! I promise you that as we do this, we will feel a love that is more powerful than anything❤️

Anyways I love yall. I will miss Elder Krupp making me pancakes but I guess I'll just have to learn haha!!

Have a great week!!
Love, Elder Weese
