Week 77: Pday Again!! 10/30/2023

Howdy everybody! How are y’all doing? Haha it's weird to have pday again because I just had it haha! Let me know how y’all are doing! I wanna hear from ya!

So these past few days since I last wrote have been full of miracles! But I'll start it off with a crazy story. So we got back from our trip to Córdoba, dropped all of our bags off in the pension and went back outside. In the distance I saw a ton of crazy lightning that was far away and I thought, that'll never make it over here. Oh boy was I wrong haha! We walked to the other side of the area and it just started to downpour, HARD! The streets got filled with water up to my calves, my companion was blind because his glasses got cooked so he couldn't see where he was going haha. We started to go back for the pension, but still wanted to stop by grido (the best ice-cream in the world). All the grido workers saw us walk in and got us some paper towels to dry our faces off, and said "you guys are dedicated! You still go out in the pouring rain like this??" We said, "Absolutely!" Haha after we got our ice cream we headed back to the pension, the lighting was so crazy!! All the power went out so it was so dark outside! Haha then we finally made it back...... to our flooded pension. 🙃 Water up to my ankles inside the house haha. But in the end, we cleaned it up. The next day it was so sunny, not a single cloud in the sky. Almost like nothing happened.

The next day was Saturday, we were focused on getting our friends to commit and recommit to come to church!

Sunday was great!! We had the most we have had since María Teresa's baptism! We had the church in her garage, (keep praying for us so we can find a building to have church!)

Prayer list:

Week 76: Transfers 10/26/2023

Howdy everybody! I hope things are going well back home for ya!! I know my email is getting sent out late because this week we had transfers so president Zanni changed our Pday.

The transfer news is............... I'm staying! Élder Johnson and I will be together for another transfer in San Jorge! I am looking forward to it!! We have some high expectations, so we need to complete them!

This past week and a half was really great!! We had a lot of miracles happen. First of all we went to visit a lady who was a reference from one of our few members that we have in San Jorge. We went over and her name is Giselda, and was in a very bad motorcycle accident about 6 months ago. Her leg got caught in the back wheel of the motorcycle and she thought the bike was going to explode, so she pulled her leg out as fast as she could, in the process tearing basically everything from her knee down. Her calf was moved down by her heel bone. Crazy! So for the past y months she's been going to all sorts of doctors, and they have been trying to help her but nothing really changed. She could walk about a block before the severe pain set into her leg.

Well we taught her a lot about the atonement of Jesus Christ and how He had suffered her pains. We then explained how the priesthood power to heal has been restored and exists today!! We then asked her, "Giselda do you have the faith sufficient to be healed?" She said, "Of course I do Elders!" So we then gave her a blessing. It was an experience that changed me.

As I was giving her the blessing she just felt her entire body just fill with warmth and joy. A feeling that she told us that she never had felt before!! We then left her house and get a message from her that same night saying how she was with her daughter drinking some mate, and as she was sitting there heard a popping noise in her leg, she then looked at it, and her calf and all the muscles went back to where they were before. Truly a miracle. It made me think of John Tanners story, when his leg was healed because he had the faith sufficient to be healed. The same thing happened to Giselda. Through the faith that she had in her Savior she was healed! She will be getting baptized on the 11 of November😊😊

Another miracle that happened was with our friend Leandro! Leandro is a pastor from another church that has been coming to our church every Sunday, and has been reading from the book of mormon a lot! He immediately found the connection that it has with the Bible! So we taught him how he needs to pray to find the answer. The next time we went over he said he read and prayed about it, and in the night had a dream. In his dream he saw a white dove flying around him, it wouldn't land, it was just flying around. He woke up the next morning and searched for answers to that dream in the book of mormon. He read a lot about baptism and the holy ghost descending upon Jesus in the form of a dove. We asked him why he thought he was dreaming that? He said, I think God is telling me to change. We invited him to be baptized so that he could receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, and he said yes!

God blessed us so much this week! The amount of miracles that we have been a part of have just been incredible!! I also hit 18 months, kind of crazy! I don't have much more time😪 have a wonderful week!

Week 74: ¡El bautismo de María Teresa! 10/9/2023

Howdy everybody! How are things going? I hope y'all are doing good! This week was a really good week!

We have just been grinding everyday here, finding for ways to find more people. We went to a movie theater and are trying to organize with the workers to play the restoration! So that is an idea in the process!! We have also started teaching some English classes and we are having good turnouts!! It is so cool to see the amount of people that want to learn English and to see the look of shock and surprise when we tell them that we teach the classes for free haha!

This weekend we had our friend María Teresa's baptism! It was so cool!! María has been learning about the church for the past 50 years and came to the decision to finally be baptized! Her brother Omar baptized her! He is over 80 years old as well!!! I'll make sure to thrown in all the pictures of that!

Church on Sunday was incredible!! We had 17 people there!!! 17!!!!! So crazy!!! As I sat in church which was held in a member’s garage, I kept thinking about the prophet Joseph Smith and the early days of the church, where church meetings were held and how he said he felt angels there with them. I felt the spirit so strong as I sat in that garage thinking about the humble beginnings of the church and had similar feelings that Joseph did.

Also today we were eating breakfast with a couple of members, and then some random guy came up to us and asked us to be on TV! So tomorrow, we will be on TV talking about the church! That'll be fun haha!!

Anyways I sure do love y'all! I pray for y'all everyday and for your happiness. I have the strongest testimony that we are here to be HAPPY!! God loves you, He recognizes each and every effort that you make!
Have a wonderful week!🫶

Week 73: Spiritually Faceblind. 10/2/2023

Howdy family and friends! How are ya'll doing? I hope that ya'll enjoyed the general conference just as much as I did! Wasn't it wonderful?

There was one message that I wanted to focus this email on. It was a talk given by Robert M Daines, where he talked about being spiritually faceblind. He talked about when he was a kid, he was face blind when he viewed his mother. He saw her as the boss, the lady who had to be obeyed, but not as his mother who loved him so much. He was faceblind. He then tied that in to how we oftenly view our Heavenly Father. Many times we view Him as somebody who needs to be obeyed, the scary boss, rule maker, etc. But we don't see Him as he really is. A loving Heavenly Father who wants the best for His children (us) I have found myself feeling that way many times in my life. Viewing my Heavenly Father as the scary rule maker and we follow Him out of fear, but the longer I have been on my mission the more I have come to know Him. We don't need anymore evidence then we already have. In John 3:16-17 it says,

16 ¶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Jesus Christ is all the evidence that we need to know that God is our loving Heavenly Father! I can promise all of you that as you come to know Jesus Christ, you will come to know that God truly does love you.

This week was a wonderful week! Full of miracles and challenges. I would ask that you would pray for:

María Teresa
José
Alma
Ignacio and Vanesa Mcpherson
Priscila and Enid
Ivan Avila
María Palma

I love you all! And hope you have a wonderful week!
