Week 68: A Week Full of Trials 8/28/2023

Howdy everybody! How was your week this week? I hope all is well!

Well as you can see by the title, this week was really hard. One of the hardest weeks of my mission to be honest, but let's start off with the positive! Pday was really fun!! We had a zone pday and played a lot of fútbol together (sorry if I didn't talk much last week, zone pday was why haha) we did a lot of game! Mainly gringos against latinos, (I'm sure you all know how that went haha) but I will say I am ready to play a game of fútbol against any of yall! I've been practicing down here in the land of the world cup Champs! Speaking of world cups Champs, how is it having Messi in Miami!?

Another positive thing is that I am healthy! I've been working out for the first time in my mission haha! I have been out of shape for a long time now so I've been working on fixing that!

But ya like I said this week was tough. At the start of the week, Sol Chavez (who was going to get baptized) basically told us that she changed her mind. She doesn't want to be baptized anymore. Our other friend on date has been struggling really bad! There is a lot more to the list that I won't throw in the email haha, it was just a bad week that's all I can say!

I will say though, that last night I had a cool experience! I just got done fighting with my comp, I went to my study desk and grabbed my journal (which I am horrible at keeping, but thanks to my mom I have been trying to keep writing haha, just for her!) I sat there and wrote out all of the things that were going bad in my life, but then all of the blessing. My eyes were opened to how blessed I really am! The video from our prophet came to my mind, "the healing power of gratitude" (I recommend that yall watch that today!) Our prophet has gone through many trials in his 98 years of life! But still was able to see the hand of the Lord in it all!

I promise you all that you have so many blessings in your life right now! I know that God loves each of you. He is mindful of you. He knows your struggles, what bugs you, He knows it all. I promise you that as you count the blessings in your life you will feel peace in your heart and mind. We have many scripture examples of people you past through hard times, but still knew that they were blessed. "I Nephi having been born of goodly parents.....and having seen many afflictions in the course of my days, nevertheless, having been highly favored of the Lord in all my days...."

I love you all! I hope you know it's true! Have a wonderful week!

Week 67: Conferencia de Zona! 8/21/2023

Howdy everybody!! How are yall doing? I hope all is well back home!

This week was pretty great!! We started it off with zone conference which was a really good one, just as they all are! It's always fun to be able to see a lot of the missionaries! I learned that I went to high-school with one of the missionaries here, haha and I had no idea! We also ate some really good food! So ya it didn't disappoint!

During the week we were able to put our friend Lautaro Molina on date! He had an amazing experience in church, loves to read the book of Mormon, he's an elect for sure! He just needs a lot of heavenly help so if yall could keep him in your prayers that would be amazing!

This week we not only had our zone conference but we also had a zone counsel, where I gave a training on how to tie the methods we use as missionaries into our purpose. I think a lot of missionaries (including me) get so focused on our methods and don't know why they even use the methods. It is so important to remember your purpose everyday as missionaries and to use the methods to your benefit!

This weekend we have *SOL CHAVEZ'S BAPTISM* Whoooooo!!! Vamos vamos vamooooos!!! Thank you all so much for keeping her in your thoughts in prayers, please keep it up because I know that Satan is going to do everything he can to stop it, but prayer is wayyyy more powerful than Satan!

Anyways thats about all! I sure do love and miss all of ya'll! But I am so happy that I am on the mission, honestly the best decision I have ever made in my life. Have a wonderful week!

Love, Élder Weese

Week 66: Anotha email!! 8/14/2023

Howdy everybody! How was the week for ya'll? I hope everything is going well for ya'll back home!!!

My week was pretty good!! We are just running all over the place trying to learn about the area, it is a huge area!! We gotta a lot of ground to cover! But we were able to see a few miracles throughout the week so I am pretty happy!!

We were able to put our friend Sol Chavez on date!! She will be getting baptized at the end of the month!! We were also able to get her and our friend Hugo to church on Sunday so Hugo here pretty soon can be baptized! On Wednesday we will have an Asado with Hugo so we will be putting him on date there!!

The ward mission leader is helping us a lot with the lessons and getting to know more members! So now we are trying to get everybody else included on the work so that he doesnt have to do all of it! But the ward is a really great ward, full of amazing people!

*prayer list*
If you guys could pray for Lautaro Molina, Sol Chavez, Hugo Angelino, Heve, Milagros, and the familia Quintana this week that would be awesome!

Que tengan una gran semana! Chau chau!

Week 65: Traslados!!! 8/7/2023

Howdy everybody!! How was the week? I hear that there was a ton of rain up there! I hope ya'll are doing alright!

Well we had our transfers this week!! I got transferred😪 so I had to say goodbye to everybody in Bell Ville which was really sad to be honest, but I am very excited about this next transfer and the miracles that the Lord has prepared. I am now opening an area as District Leader with my chileno companion named Élder Riffo in an area on the west side of Córdoba called Parque Capital! I have my homie Élder Duke in the district so I am very happy about that!!

Parque Capital is a really cool area! We have a lot of church attendance, and we get a lot of support from the members in the area! The organization here is increíble! As of right now we have zero information about the area, we don't have our area book, which means we don't have the information of members, people being taught, a map, etc. So the members here have been helping us a lot learn the area and to get to know everybody being taught!

Church on Sunday was really cool! It was fast and testimony meeting and before testimonies the second counselor in the bishopric got up and said, "We have some very good news, the missionaries are finally back!" After that he had us go up and present ourselves and it was incredible to see the tears going down the peoples eyes as they saw us, the missionaries around the world truly have a huge impact on people!

As of right now I wanted to add some names to this email of people you can keep in your prayers who have a lot of potential to be baptized here soon. Milagros, Sol, Priscila, Ana Diaz, and Chiara! Please keep them in your prayers!! Also the familia Cardozo whos son finally came back to church with us on Sunday and we are trying to get the rest of the family to come back to church! Anyways I love you all and I invite you all to write down the experiences you have with the spirit because I can promise you, those experiences help you through the hard times!

Que tengan una gran semana! Les quiero mucho!

Week 64: The Grind.... 7/31/2023

Howdy everybody! How are things going for ya? I hope yall are surviving the heat that is happening up there!

This week was just a continued grind! Elder Cunningham and I just continue to work hard everyday!! A lot more of the members are helping in the missionary work which makes us happy!!

My comp got me addicted to buying jerseys mannn. I got so many jerseys its insane!! You'll have to see them all when you see me again haha! I'll make sure to throw in alot of the pictures in this email.

I have an invitation for you all!! READ THE NEW PREACH MY GOSPEL! It is INCREÍBLE! Something I definitely wish I would have read before the mission.

We get transfer news tomorrow so Imma find out where they are sending me! (🤫this might be my last pday in bell ville😪) But I do look forward to hear of my next adventure!

I love you all and hope you are staying safe! Chau chau!

Week 63: Almost Missed a Email!! 7/25/2023

Howdy everybody!! How are yall doing? I almost missed sending an email to yall this week so I figured I would write one real fast for you guys!!

This week was full of exchanges! We had 3 but we did all 3 in our area so haha I though that part was pretty great! First we did an exchange with the AP's and I went with the one who goes home in a couple of weeks. His name is Elder Bunker and he is from Sandy so I'll get in contact with him 100% after the mission! The next day we did some exchanges with Elderes Costa y Chavez. From Brazil and Chile! Then the day after that we went with Elderes Kappelman and Turner, and during that exchange we got a text from the Zannis out of nowhere that they were in Bell Ville and wanted to have interviews with us haha! Its like from the movie the best two years when their mission President says he is coming and the Elders rush to clean their apartment and hide the pictures of their girlfriends😂 Haha so it was a week full of exchanges for sure!

We did have a lot of success this week! We were able to expand our teaching pool a little bit which has been something we have been wanting to get done for weeks now! Joaquín's mom Noelia finally came to church so we are continuing to work with her everyday! Just keep in your prayers that our friends can keep progressing! I have witnessed the miracles from your prayers so I know it is real!

Also I just barely got the pictures from my zone conference that I am gonna throw in here real fast! Anyways I love yall and hope yall have a wonderful week!
